Participate in department governance and add a nice line to your resume by serving on one of the following committees:

• Undergraduate Studies: Considers and generates big-picture pedagogical and administrative initiatives
• Teaching Awards: Identifies and compiles application materials for outstanding teachers in the department
• Friends of History: Liaisons with the department's alumni and fundraising body
• History@Illinois: Produces the department's annual newsletter
