Evan spent the summer interning at the Elgin History Museum. He led school groups in interactive history lessons, catalogued newly donated and acquired items into the museum's online archives, and conducted research for an upcoming exhibit on the history of the telegraph and its relationship with Elgin and its railroads, among other things.
Evan "learned that one doesn't have to travel very far to find rich history and those who are passionate about preserving and teaching it."
