Stanislav Khudzik and Priyanka Zylstra, graduate students in the Department of History, have been selected as 2025-26 Humanities Research Institute graduate fellows. Campus Fellowships are awarded to Illinois faculty and graduate students who spend the year engaged in research and writing and participate in the HRI Fellows Seminar. The fellowship will grant them a stipend, along with a tuition and partial fee wavier for the academic year of the award. This year's theme was "Story and Place". Projects were selected that use multiple mediums and that help us reckon with the world as it is, but also how we tell stories about the world. Khudzik and Zylstra were two of the seven graduate fellows selected. Khudzik will use the funds for his project “1905 After 1917: The Bolshevik Archive, Oral Storytelling, and Historical Media in Early Soviet Leningrad, 1921–1926," and Zylstra will use them for her project “Feminism, Activism, and Resistance: South Asian Women in Multi-Racial Britain, 1971–1993.”
