Biography
Dr. Schneider has taught Modern U.S. History at the University of Illinois for over twenty years. A specialist in U.S. immigration history and immigration policy as well as labor history, she has published numerous articles and three books in this field. Her latest book, "Crossing Borders: Migration and Citizenship in the Twentieth Century United States" (Harvard) was published in 2011. She has taught and lectured in her field at numerous Universities in Germany, France and in China.
