Senior Spotlight: Travis Huynh (BA ’26, history with minors in secondary education and English)

Internships & awards
In his time at Illinois, Travis was a College of Education Fellow for the IGlobal Program, a virtual extra-curricular club for middle school students from around the world. He was also the panel chair for Phi Alpha Theta’s 2025 Undergraduate History Conference.
RSOs
Travis has been involved in various student organizations, including being secretary for the Society of Minority Students in History and chair for student inclusion for the history honors society Phi Alpha Theta. He also served as vice president of Tea & Company, a weekly tea drinking club.
Favorite memory
His favorite memory was getting to know the people in the 2026 secondary education cohort, becoming not only colleagues but genuine friends with others who share a passion for education.
Plans after college
Travis plans teach at a school in need in Illinois, and will eventually go to graduate school to pursue an interest in labor history.
