Ismael Leyva started in the History PhD program in the Fall of 2024. He is originally from Iowa and completed his undergraduate education at the University of Iowa. His undergraduate thesis focused on the Latinos that were displaced from the Chavez Ravine community and the following construction of Dodger Stadium. He received a grant to travel to the UCLA archives to engage in primary source research for this project.
