Convocation 2022

Students Preparing for Convocation

The 2022 History & Philosophy Convocation will be held in Smith Memorial Hall from 1:30-2:30 PM on Saturday, May 14. Doors open for guests and participants at 12:30. We invite all students earning degrees in History since Fall 2021 to participate in this ceremony, including those who intend to graduate in August 2022. 

This year, the History & Philosophy Convocation will be streamed, at the following link: History and Philosophy Convocation 2022 (illinois.edu) The stream will start approximately 10 minutes before the beginning of the event. 

Students are required to wear academic regalia for the History & Philosophy Convocation and for the university-wide Commencement ceremony. Order your rental cap and gown online from Herff Jones by Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at THIS PAGE to take advantage of early order discount pricing. Regular pricing will be available April 13 through April 30. A professional photographer will take several photos of each graduate during the History & Philosophy Convocation. Graduates will be contacted via email about viewing and purchasing photos.

Tickets are not required for the Convocation ceremony.
