Career Planning Course

interviewHistory majors at Illinois learn a lot about research, analysis, and problem solving, but they learn and describe these skills within an academic discipline that categorizes knowledge and competencies differently than the workplace does. In our HIST 199 course, Career Planning for History Majors, students learn to translate their academic abilities into career-specific terms. They inventory their interests and skills, identify careers that reflect their ambitions, and practice marketing their qualifications to employers.
