Kevin Wiggins is a MLIS / History Graduate Student. Born and raised in Des Moines, IA he has been interested in history from a young age. He attended the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA where he majored in History and Philosophy.
Late Antiquity, Classics
Kevin's first year research project focuses on the roles of animals in the Variae of Cassiodorus. The project argues that this particular aspect of the work carries economic, political, and social implications for the wider Ostrogothic Kingdom in which Cassiodorus lived. He has also conducted guided research on the Historia Francorum of Gregory of Tours, and illustrations of animals in the Vergilius Vaticanus.
